Early Years Practitioner 

You will be working as a key person for the daily needs of the children between the ages of birth and 5 years.
​
Main Responsibilities
  • To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care and education for the children at the nursery.
  • Promoting partnership with families.
  • To give support to other personnel within the nursery.
  • To implement the daily routine.
  • To follow all Policies and Procedures.
  • To safeguard all children at all times.
  • Key worker for a group of children
  • Complete & implement EYFS planning
  • Complete your children's learning journals, observations and assessments
  • Working in a team effectively 

Main Duties
  • Plan, implement and evaluate a programme of activities following the EYFS suitable to the age range of children attending the nursery
  • Observe and assess the children in your group and complete individual assessments.
  • Implement British Values throughout your practice.
  • Communicate effectively and fluently with parents using appropriate style both verbally and in writing.
  • Work alongside parents of children with special educational needs to achieve full integration within the nursery.
  • Foresee the needs of special educational needs children and give physical, emotional, intellectual and emotional guidance as appropriate.
  • Look upon the nursery as a “whole” where your help can be most utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of the children.
  • Support all staff and engage in team work.
  • Attend all team meetings as required and carry out CPD Training.
  • To keep abreast of current issues, monitor your own training needs and attend training as necessary.
  • Liaise with the Local Authority/Ofsted and other professionals associated with the nursery.
  • Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the ethos behind the nursery is fulfilled.
  • Attend all supervision meetings with the Manager.
  • Undertake certain domestic duties as required.

Required Qualifications & Skills; 
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and 2 years experience in a Nursery setting
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage, British Values, Ofsted standards
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Available for January start
  • All applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS
  • Able to provide suitable references
